How to get to Estoril Coast…

By plane

The region is served by Lisbon International Airport, located only 30 kilometres (19 miles) away. All major international airlines land are represented here. Information can also be obtained on flights, ticket reservations and air taxis.

In addition to the standard taxi services, there is an airbus which connects the airport to Lisbon city centre. It runs every 20 minutes and serves Cais do Sodré (Cascais line) and Rossio (Sintra line) railway stations.

The Aeródromo Municipal de Cascais (Cascais Municipal Aerodrome) at Tires has a runway measuring 1,700 metres by 30 metres and a modern terminal with capacity for 80 to 90 passengers (from Schengen Agreement countries). It can also provide any technical and support services necessary as well as information on air taxis.

Detailed information on other forms of public transport can also be found at hotels and tourist information centres. Taxi services operate around the clock and trains between Cascais and Lisbon, and Sintra and Lisbon take little over half an hour and only stop between 02h00 and 05h30.

To reach the Estoril from Lisbon airport, you may do so either from public transport or by car, being able to request your rental available through several companies in the market.

The Estoril Coast has an efficient public transport network:

Buses: Tourist buses and normal bus links between all towns in the area. Reliable bus service by Scotturb.

Horse – drawn carriages: Romantic tours of Cascais next to the Visconde da Luz Garden. For further information please contact the Tourism Offices of the Estoril Coast.

Trains: Frequent CP trains between Cascais and Lisbon (to Cais do Sodré station).

Metro: From Lisbon airport you can reach by Metro the Cais do Sodré station and from there, take the train to Estoril or Cascais. Everyday from 6:30am till 1:00am.
