World Heritage

The first thing that amazes us about the natural heritage of the Estoril coast is how everything has been preserved, in total harmony, so close to such a large metropolis like Lisbon, with all its attractions.

Maybe one of those rare examples of how humans and nature can co-exist, but judging by the natural beauty, not at all impossible.

Extreme example of this is the Natural Park Sintra-Cascais, with a wide variety of landscapes, including sand dunes, forests, lakes, a rugged stretch of coastline, high cliffs interspersed with beaches, the imposing Cabo da Roca in the center of the magnificent Sintra Mountains, an area classified by UNESCO as World Heritage.
